Yep, came home on a low loader last night! :-(
Know most of you will be out in the sunshine with the griff grin but any chance anyone around to advise me before I cry!

Ok long story short, cut out 15mins from home, would not restart seemed like flat battery, no warning lights or anything. Tried to jump start but nothing. Breakdown guy came got it fired with heavy duty jups and a bit of time, but here is the thing oil warning light came on and no pressure! Dipstick said nearly at full at 5pm, 20miles later showing nothing at all. Trailered home and charged overnight bought bottle of oil. Cheked this morning, oil showing as nearly full, starts first time but no pressure and noisy engine, so off straight away!

Please help, hope I don't have a major bill as car would have to go before I got to use it.

Sounds like engine is Fu//ed.. Sorry to sound blunt but if theres no oil in the engine .The engine will sieze up because the oil in the engine also cools the engine as well as lubricating it, the pistons would have siezed in bores & when the car cooled down they would have freed up, Putting oil in this morning and car starting with horrible noise sounds very expensive,, Lets all hope i wrong,,,,,

Thats the strange thing, I have put no oil in the car at all! I bought it to put in but it reads nearly full now so not used it. So looks like last nights one off empty reading was a freak as before and after being out it reads fine. Only thing I forgot to mention is that when it died I tried to bump start it backwards as I was on a slight incline, that might have caused the funny empty reading.

I'm not sure on TVRs but could well be your oil pump. Only problem is, if there is no oil inside the block damage could be substantial, anything from seized to crankshaft bearings hope it is only a minor fault.

Anyone want a piece of crap shaped like a Griffith? Garage say it seized, what was the engine had done 48K (though I did only 50 miles) was a 97 500 in starmist blue.

What a bummer, really sorry to hear that. These engines aren't expensive to fix and Griffs are going up in value. I'd give it a few days and weigh up your options.

That's serious bad luck or a cover up by the previous owner. Needs looking into IMHO,

Give TVR Power a shout...... their prices are very fair.. check their web site for engine upgrades for examples of prices

That sucks - but I think it would be worth looking for another engine. You may even be able to pick something up from one of the specialist breakers if money is tight.
