I was with my mate today in his car and she passed camera van at the side of the road today at over the speed limit by a fair bit.

He is a new(ish0 driver 11months and was in a overtaking lane (60mph zone) and was doing 85mph passing a car when she came over the brow of the hill and the van was there. In panic she never really slowed down and passed it doing about 75 but i think they may of got her.

He cant get anymore points or he will get banned (his own fault i know)
When writing a 'my friend did...' post, take more care over your personal pronouns. teacher

Think of it - I know it might be hard.

What happens if you take the points for him/her/it and then you get more and more, resulting in a ban.

Plus I'm 99% sure it aint legal.

Ever been to prison? Because this is a straight ticket to jail.

He won't like using soap for much longer if he ends up there.

I'm guessing this friend had a recent sex change so maybe they can confuse the law to the same level as you seem to be regarding their gender. They'd probably get let off because the paperwork would be too much grief.

Right i never knew it was that serious tbh.

So i assume that even if i took them (if it wasnt illegal) they would check the video/pic see it was a male then i would get done!

Oh well.
They might, they might not. Do you feel lucky?

If you're unlucky, you go to jail for perjury and so does your friend.

It was the camera out the rear of the van and we were going towards it - Would that mean it would have his face in the picture or how does it work??

Sorry for sounding stupid.
What's your mates name? I'm intrigued.

You can request a photo when they send documents through to the registered keeper. I believe there's an option to say you aren't sure who is driving.

Taking points for someone is illegal, not really crime of the century but if they do find out I would expect a decent fine, also if you happen to pick up a couple of points by yourself you could be in a situation.

Taking points does happen though, i have been asked a couple of times to take them for others, naturally I've refused but I do know someone who is on 9 points, his mrs is also on 9 points but hardly drives.

This is where you are sorely mistaken - because it is taken as PCOJ and you are pretty much going to get a prison sentence if convicted. In fact, I'd say with 99% certainty that it would be jail. Bear in mind that PCOJ can lead to 7 years jail i.e. crown court time, not just a mags slap on the wrist and fine.

PCOJ is far, far worse than speeding in the eyes of the law.
