Bitter and Twisted Communists

Telegraph said:
BA boss Willie Walsh surrounded as demonstrators storm union talks

British Airways chief executive Willie Walsh had to be escorted to safety from a meeting with unions after demonstrators stormed the headquarters of conciliation service, Acas.

Police were called to the Acas building in London after around 60 demonstrators from the Trotskyite Socialist Workers Party broke in.

Officers had to escort Mr Walsh to safety
...
It may not be the rioting. But it's a start.

To be fair this lot of idiots might have kicked off at any time. To me, though, its part of the great outpouring of bitterness that followed Labour's defeat at the election.

Interesting to note that the Unite union spokesman condemned them as "idiots".

Particularly after they were 'summoned' using the modern day equivalent of a Ouija Board - Twitter.

Funny how quickly times change. A few months ago, tanker drivers are subtley warned that if they take strike action they will be arrested under terrorism rules. This lot, break into a private building to disrupt delicate talks that they have no legal interest in & at the moment seem to get a little tap on the wrist.

Expect a LOT more of this in the coming months.

I don't think S.W. care either way about this particular dispute - it's just their idea of a day out. When i was at the L.S.E. they used to regularly 'invade' the buildings just for the hell of it. The security eventually gave up and let them into our tutorials - think they were a bit dissappointed that nobody was interested in them or their 'cause' .. but this is beginning to feel like a proper recession.

Socialist Worker?

I couldn't see anyone in that break-in who looked like they'd ever had a job?

Too true but then Unwashed Socialist Benefit Claimant doesn't have quite the same ring to it.

I do wonder about some of these folks just what their values actually are or if they simply feel some need to "belong" to some cause.

Years ago it would probably have been the church, now it seems to be various forms of Communism/Socialism/Anti-Capitalism.

They see themselves as the "under dog" fighting the "filthy rich" who have things that they don't, and why should they after working hard rather than living off social fking welfare?

Talk to a teacher or uni lecturer, most will share their opinion from my experience rolleyes

Personally? I think we should make use of these anti-terrorism laws and shoot the fkers furious At least Labour will have served some purpose.
