Afternoon guys & girls,

Bit of a rant, but why when selling a car do people not respond to phone calls, texts etc when there is clearly someone seriously interested in looking at it.

Car I'm looking at has been up 1 day and the only response I've had is 'will call tomorrow to arrange a time' lol.

When I sell a car, I like to respond immediately and if I'm selling I want to get rid asap.

It's the same with houses.

I have no idea why people put their car up for sale then p**s off for a weekend away - especially when their car is up for sale just before a bank holiday.........

Because maybe selling the car is not the most important thing in their life.

people won't want to do anything in this world anymore

there is no care, no effort

they cant be bothered tro write a good ad or take good pictures or answer calls or return messages or texts or emails

they want everything for nothing

you see the same thing in all cervices of society.. especially with young folk

its quite frightening

life is all about putting in effort and reaping rewards

but to todays generation its all about INSTANT GRATIFICATION with little or zero effort

Nicely put jackal - you're probably right. Young people especially can't even be bothered to type or speak properly. So how can you expect them to make a good car advert, clean up their car for sale or entertain buyers.

Alot of people regard a car as a need item rather than a luxury so dont really have the same sort of interest like most of us on here, all my friends think i am crazy as i spend money on the car keeping it looking and driving well.

People just go with the flow and if the car sells great if not they just trade it in with the dealers or places like we buy any car.

I used to sell cars and have just recently sold a couple of my own cars. The big change i've noticed is the whole texting thing. People will happily expect to negotiate by text and expect to agree a price without even seeing it.

The amount of 'whats the least you'll take for it mate' texts i got was astounding.

Completely agree with Jackals comments.

I'm looking at a £38k car and you know, you want at least some sort of service or response.

If I sell something or place an ad, I want it gone pronto not left available for weeks on end.

Bizarre but yeah definitely a strong 'don't care, no effort' attitude these days.
