Finally.......... new Tamora

Well, after many weeks of waiting, the new Tam is finally sat gleaming on the driveway :-)
The guys at RG have done a fab job on it, and it looks totally different than when I saw it first having just had in it to them. Wheels are great, very plesed with them but so need to get some TVR centre caps, you were all right !
Made it back to Somerset safely without wrapping it round a tree or losing bits off of it, though though it might overheat in the queues of traffic heading west for the weekend on Saturday lunchtime passing Stonehenge !
So, the inevitable dash questions.................... water temp sits fine at about 92 to 94 when moving, though it did creep up to 99 stuck at Stonehenge, though both fans cut in and are working perfectly.
Oil temp, once warmed up sat at a steady 60 to 62, no problem at all yesterday. Though have been on a trip out earlier to take said pics and go to B&Q and noticed the temp crept all the way up to between 80 and 85, though it didn't go over that. The outside temp in the sun today is similiar to yesterday, so why was it sitting at an additional 20 degrees over yesterday I wonder? Oil pressure is sat at a steady 30, assume this is ok ?!
Anyway, the car is awesomely good, feels very tight and uptogether, drives really well and I love it !!!

Oil pressure sounds about right and did you check the temp while it was moving or still? the oil temp will drop while moving as the sensor is in the airflow at the front of the car.

Looks great. I'm must try putting my back window down too although I hear so many comments on it creasing the plastic. I'd check your coolant level quite regularly, though coming from RG I'm sure they would have put in some good stuff in it. I topped mine up yesterday 50\50 advanced coolant\water and it had dropped again to the same level today after a 50 mile drive.
Thanks mr M, RG advised to ensure there are no creases in it and just smooth it over once it's down. Makes sense and seems to be ok so will see how it goes.
Cheers for the info on coolant level. Drove it back from Hampshire yesterday to Somerset and have done about 40 miles this afternoon so will check the level and keep an eye on it from here on in

. Better when warmer too as the plastic is more flexible apparently. Hopefully you have good quality coolant and a good 50\50 mix of coolant + water. I may have to check mine with a gravity tester.

Heres the solution to the creased rear screen have a new one made with a smaller window panel. No corner to bend round means no creases just a perfect rear screen.

If you do get kink marks in the screen (and you will) try warming them with a hair drier and they will come out. New screen like Barrys is the way to go but I paid out to get mine replaced with a std one only last year as it was 'milky' so another £600 is a bit of a waste at the moment.

Congratulations - looks a nice car. With the rear window make sure when you fold you chop out any potential creases before they get too bad - easier when it's warm and avoid putting it up/down in really cold weather when the plastic can be quite brittle.Oil temp, once warmed up sat at a steady 60 to 62, no problem at all yesterday. Your water temps read fine, 90-92 on the move is spot on and in traffic as long as the fans cut in and bring the temp down then again all is good. The pod sensors can over-read (mine do by 6 deg when plugged into a laptop) so you shouldn't need to worry. My coolant sits steady just under the centre inlet pipe - look for consistency in level rather than ensuring it's always near the top.
Oil temp again is about right, the sensor is right in the air flow and can under read when on the move. In traffic it will rise to its proper level and if warm outside then the airflow probably won't reduce this. Anywhere between 70 & 90 at idle once warm is good to go, just don't floor it until the oil is up to temp though. For me I run below 2500rpm until the oil hits 40 and below 3500rpm until 70deg. Oil pressure sounds fine - at warm idle it should be around 15.
