02 Mondeo petrol fan belt

Really struggling to get a new one fitted.

It feels about an inch too short.

I have checked the fitting diagram and I am fitting it the correct way.

Is there some magic trick?

If its one of those stretch belts, they normally come with the tool needed to fit it, that's if you bought a genuine one.

Have you loosened the tensioner? assuming it has one

1. Is the replacement the same size as the one you removed, what engine and model year?

2. Read the workshop manual.

3, Google is your friend, there are posts about instaling the belt.

I eventually found out that it has to go round the water pump last, made it a tad easier....
