My vents are hardly working the screen ones and face vents are ok.
If i close them i would expect maximum air through the footwell but nothing.
This was the case before the A/C project which i haven't finished yet.
Any clues ?

I May be wrong!!
When I first got my Mk1, I had problems with the heater. The vendor advised that he was 99% sure it would be the ecu. Turned out, eventually, to be the heater blower motor.

However, when I was in the stage of trying different ecu's, I was lead to understand that there are different types. I'm guessing here, but could it be you need an "aircon" ecu to run that mode and set the flaps accordingly??

I'd check all the pipes in the passenger footwell are connected properly. I think the footwell vents are feed by a t joint off the pipes that feed the top dash via the two flaps. If you've taken the top dash off you will know what I mean. I took all my interior out for a re-trim, when I did it none of the pipes were connected which explained why I had air coming out of places it shouldn't and none where I would expect it.

If I recall correctly, the hot/cold air comes into the dash via the two ports on the left of this shot. The left most (top in shot) is the cold/AC air and the right is the hot.

This then flows into the dash cavity before going back out into the pipe which feeds into the footwell.

Had a look tonight and when in passenger side and fan full on i could feel air blowing on me coming through the dash!!
Looked underneath and one of the elbows had come adrift i assume i disturbed it fitting A/C refitted it.
Not totally happy can feel air leaking would need dash off to seal.
How do you remove dash?
But i now have air coming through the vents trickling would be fair but an improvement never the less should get better when A/C is working biggrin
