PS3 not reading discs!

for some reason my PS3 no longer recognises that there is a disc in it! anyone experienced this or know a fix?

Yup, the laser was fked on mine...

Needed a new one - first time it happened it was under warrantee, second time I needed to purchase a new one.

mines doing this aswell (happened friday) spoke to sony they said its probably a laser fault. im getting an exchange ps3 from them for £130

Happened to me also, it was a few months outside the warranty but they still kindly sent a free replacement (80gb). Got that 1 back & sold it to a mate then got the 250gb version with an extra 30 quid to extend the warranty to 2 years.
