Gav,

I'll be there with one of my drivers (Car #43) who is racing in the MX5 Championship this year. Looks like a few other of the MX5 guys will be there with a race at Mallory coming up soon.

Yes, it's openpitlane, sign on from about 7:30, briefing at 8:30 and remember if you arrive after 9:00 you may have a long wait as the track has to close to let cars cross into the paddock.

Yes, a really good day yesterday with considerate driving and well organised. First time out with the TDO but will definitely use them again.
Anyone else experience higher oil temps than usual?

I was there in the red VXR8, my oil temp ran high and my n/s tyres
suffered badly other than that a good day. It was my first trackday but won't be my last.

Hi RedHot.

You came over to me & the driver of the GTR late in the afternoon to query your tyre wear.

Hi Darren.

Since fitting an oil cooler I've not seen temps over 100 (Measured at the sump) on four other summer trackdays, but I was up to 120 in the afternoon. I thought my thermostat had failed until the guy in the Evo said he normally runs at 145 max but he was seeing 165!

The weather was obviously warmer than it looked.
I was in the silver Skyline.
Your escort was very swift, what engine is in it?

hi its got a cosworth turbo engine in it with about 350bhp but it felt well down on power that day the engine would not pick up below 4500 rpm and droped of at 6000rpm,before it would go from 3000rpm to 7000rpm so getting that done as i speak ,your car looked good

Thanks for your pointers on tyre pressure, at least now I know what to look for.

Thanks.
I'm running 290 Bhp which is very modest for a Skyline. I'm more interested in handling and braking at the moment and it was my first time out on track tyres (Hence the bright wheels)and was testing a new set of Brembos. The tyres gave me at least another 10 mph round gerards and 15 mph through the esses compared to when I did the track last year on road rubber.
I love your arches. cool

Gav,

Sorry, first time back on the forum since the weekend, oddly enough just back from Mallory again as we did the Wed morning test sessions today.

Yes, it was a good day, track felt pretty quite but there was a fair few there which I think shows the good ettiquette of those attending.

We were in the green and black car with Meezer on the side (#43). There was also a blue car and a gold coloured car. It was my clients first visit. He's from Saudi Arabia and is competing in this years MX5 Championship. I posted one of his sessions on Youtube.

Note that the timing was added post trackday.

Afternoon chaps, I was there in my 944 with my mate in his 911. Was my first track day in the porsche and thoroughly enjoyed it. Was worried that there were so many there, but never seemed too busy on the track. Enjoyed the track itself, small but quite challenging with gerards, the hairpin and the downhill lefthander all requiring some thought. Have an onboard camera and calculated I improved my lap time by at least 5 seconds over the course of the day, so was chuffed with that. Hoping to do the javelin session at cadwell in august, so maybe see a few of you there? Cheers, ben
