Which way would you go?

Going to Carlimits at North Weald Airfield, North Weald Bassett. I need to go there from South West London - Kingston area.
Need to arrive at 9am on a Thursdsay morning and leaving there at around 4pm.
Do I drive 72miles and go round the M25, or do I drive 40 miles and go through Tower Bridge, along Mile End and along the A12 - M11?
I am guessing the 72 miles would have less traffic? And would probably be the safer and quicker option?
Thanks

I wouldn't take the Tower Bridge option. At that time of the morning it will be horrendous and so will the A12.Need to arrive at 9am on a Thursdsay morning and leaving there at around 4pm.

I'd go round the M25 despite the roadworks.
Depending how quickly you can access the M25, that trip will take you an hour *tops*. I visit North Weald airfield a lot and have done it from Epsom (at legal speeds) in 50 minutes before now.
Key thing is that you're going against the M25 traffic. That section is remarkably clear, provided there are no hold-ups at the tunnel.
