What's your annual mileage?
Discussion
The topic of Ferraris etc not being driven "enough" seems to come up quite a lot here. So I was wondering what mileage people here do in their cars? If you're lucky enough to have multiple supercars, maybe state the mileage for each e.g. your F430 only does 2k per year, but that's because you're splitting your commute between that, the Veyron and the Zonda while keeping your Caparo for weeken blasts
I'll get the ball rolling. I've done 2k miles in 2 months of ownership of my 355, so probably looking at 8-10k miles per year when my summer road trip is included and factoring in reduced winter usage
She is my daily drive but I use a pushbike & train for commuting to work

If its choice do you have other things to play with (not drive in i.e. daily hack).
Not in the same league obviously but i got told my 10k a year in my Elise is very high.... to which i couldn't disagree more with.
I couldn't (probably due to my age and lack of earnings) spend a sizeable chunk of money on a car (or actually anything in fact) if i didn't get good use out of it.... that goes for anything which people think are 'premium' and should be kept for best i.e. pens, watches and clothes etc. Why keep it locked away whilst they either go out of fashion or deprecate.
Anyway pleased to hear most of you get these beautiful cars out for others to enjoy.
There was a red California pulled up across the road from me in Edinburgh ... looked stunning.

I wouldn't say that 10k in an Elise is high mileage at all. If its choice do you have other things to play with (not drive in i.e. daily hack).

As for mileage it's a bit of work and choice. Have a couple of bikes and other cars that I use mostly.

Like many others I'm struggling with this. I normally do 6-9k in my toy cars, circa 30k in my daily runabout. My present toy being a 360M is causing me concern about re-sale values with regard mileage and these thoughts are stopping me enjoying my car to it's fullest.
I dont understand why people worry about re-sale values. Especially if it stops your enjoyment of the car. I dont care about resale value too much, If I can sell my Gallardo for (worst case) £30k in 3 years time with 50,000 on the clock I would think that is good value for money. I have lost heaps more money with depreciation on 'Normal cars' I have owned.sone said:

That's the reason why historically I've tended to go for cars which have a higher than average mileage whatever they are. With the 355, I didn't really have an option due to budget constraints, but even if I could have afforded say a <20k miler, I don't think I would have bothered. I'd have saved myself say £10-£12k, maybe spent a few grand bringing the interior up to the standard of a new(er) car, and kept the rest on the off chance that an engine rebuild/new engine became due at the, ehem, "intergalactic" (
) mileage of 50k miles....!Gassing Station | Supercar General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
