Seeking independent BMW auto electrician in Mids-NW-N.Wales
Discussion
Hi
Have a 98 840 Sport thats been superb for the past 4 years. A couple of months ago the instrument cluster threw a wobbly and now the only gauge working is the speedo. I've tried the 'ignition key to position 1' trick and all works fine.
Purchased a replacement cluster from FAB but problem still exists. Since buying it I understand that the module and cluster need to be a matched pair. Have taken the EKM module out and checked capacitors etc but all seems to be fine.
Has anyone else seen this problem? Or can anyone recommend a 'very competent' BMW electrical specialist in the Midlands / Nth West / N. Wales area?
Appreciate any help or guidance as really dont want to take it to a franchised dealer.
