Sp12s and spiders

Morning,

I'm going down the sp12 route, can anyone tell me if I can fit them all in the car so I can get them swapped? Clearly I'll need to get the spiders in as well for the trip back!


Also, any idea how much lighter they are?

Actually - yes I would have thought you would, because of of course they won't have tyres on either will they.

MadGraham regularly carts wheels around in his Cerb to feed his passion for 888's on track .

However, there is every chance that I could be persuaded to pick up your spiders for you and maybe even hang on to them to here for a bit, then you could collect them in another car.

25% lighter comes to mind....., but not completely sure....

I think the fronts a re 3kg lighter than the spiders and the rears are 2 kg (9" wide rear compared to 8" front).

Either way, they make a massive difference to the handling and ride, well worth while!

I managed to carry a set of spiders (without tyres) in the Cerb but take some blankets or something padded with you to put over the seats before you go shoving a couple of wheels in there.

An American holidaymaker who was seriously injured by an exploding tyre has died.

Jenna Wilcox, a captain with the US Air Force, and her husband were on holiday in Edinburgh when they were forced to pull their car over and change tyres.

They fitted the space-saver to the car, a BMW Z3, but were unable to fit the full-sized tyre into the boot. Capt Wilcox got back into the car holding the tyre, which then exploded in her hands.

Be carful if you have the tyres in the car, its a REAL story BTW.

A bit late, but when I changed my Spiders for SP12 I managed to get all four spiders (with tyres) in the car. Luckily I didn't have a passenger and was able to make use of the front seat for one of the front wheels/tyres.

I like the look of the spiders, but I've gone through so many! SP12's don't look that good tbh, but obviously far superior. Trying to find something else in the meantime.

Their silver, good condition, slight bit of kerbing on nearside front but is small, I prefer the look of the Spiders on a Tuscan, however in the thread I started someone said the Tuscan and Cerb use different size wheels so it might not be possible?.

Totally agree, its a right pisser!
maybe something along the line of some kind of forged split rim wheels would be the answer but no doubt horribly expensive.

It would seem that some do and some don't! Some say to fit 4 Tuscan front wheels to a Cerb; I've got a full set of Tuscan spiders, funnily enough off a Tuscan and they fit with no problems at all.

I 'think' that rears and front spiders all 'fit' a Cerbera. However, with some Cerberas if you have rears on the rear it can cause rubbing on the wheel arches because the offsets are different. I suppose that the preferred ride height makes a difference to the extent/existance of the problem too.

I've found a set, but the bore size is too small, correct offset etc, nice deep dish. Risky to buy them and for'em to not work out. Also "White" wheels are back in it's like my verb will have it's dancing shoes on.

Turning circle wasn't great and steering feels much better with a lighter wheel etc.

And to wrap it all up, the SP12's suit my Cerbera . I actually have the pleasure of my Cerb being on the front cover of a hardback portfolio of Silverstone Performance 'enhancments and developments'.

Funnily enough I managed to buckle one of the original OZ Saturns on mine, thought they were indestructible!
