Just got in the flat sat down to watch the footy......... i ask my flatmate why aren't we watching the England vs Mexico in HD...

He then says ITV Scotland aren't showing it so not in HD hence why we're watching it on (virgin box) 853............

WTF SERIOUSLY WTF..... why has this damn country got such a complex about England.... they really need to get over it...

As you can tell i'm an Englishman living in Scotland...... and atm not a happy one..... (they did this with another game where i had to endure Hearts vs Dunfermline or something st)

Less to do with complex, more to do with realistic market.
Why would anyone in Scotland want to watch an England friendly in HD?

Tell me about it.

Its like when Scotland have a friendly against an average World Cup outfit and it doesn't get put on BBC HD in England. What is up with that?

They don't because they have a complex. English football fans still watch Scotish games

Well yes, but if only to have a laugh.

As the OP himself stated:

"As you can tell i'm an Englishman living in Scotland...... and atm not a happy one..... (they did this with another game where i had to endure Hearts vs Dunfermline or something st)"

If I had some free time I would happily sit and watch the England/Mexico game.

If Scotland were playing a qualifier match I would make time to watch it.
I suspect that applies across the country. It certainly does with all my football loving friends.

Maybe, because the scottish get fed up watching all the english rubbish that is on scottish tv.

Anyways, its the same every year, the english will win this year, get knocked out once a decent team plays you and you blame the manager who has one of the best cv, maybe you should look at the players instead.

If Scotland Wales or Ireland are playing, I wouldn't expect it to be on ITV or BBC, more likely BBC/ITV Three.

I don't think it's down to any sort of "complex", not sure if I've missed the point?

I think WTF could easily be applied to your post.

I am a Scotsman who lived in England for 8 years. I didn't feel the need to rant or throw my toys out of the pram if something wasn't 'Scottish' enough. England is a different country. If I didn't like it, I always had the option to feck off back to my home country.

You have the same option open to you.

I don't. I'd rather watch Are You Being Served.

ETA - or Terry and June for that matter.

To the OP...

... this thread reminds me of one of the reasons for moving back down to civilisation 10 years ago.

This and the crap weather.

And the scotches themselves.

And the unrelenting anti-englishness.

And the devolution.

And the fact we'd had most of the oil by then.

Come home young man.... it's so refreshing to turn the radio on and hear about the English football rather than Dundee vs Dundee United again!
