Do you get extra discount because a thief would not only have to break into the garage, but have to get it down off the ramp as well?

Actually Hagerty's have generally jsut stopped insuring TVRs under 20 years old. I've been with them for years, since I was 25 or something like that. Never over £300.

Yes, I was in a round about way refering to that. I too have been with them for a couple of years and will have to find another insurer this year! My last renewal was almost exactly to the pound what Quinny has been quoted from his insurer

Now that is criminal, did you tell em it had no engine for that price?

Mine were plain stupid, refused to insure it in a brand new warehouse with 1ft thick concreet walls and steel roller doors, but perectly happy with a brick garage with wood doors!!

Funny enough....When I go away I put the car up in the air, and then have a little secret way of disabling the pump on the ramp...smile The lift has to go up, a few inches before it can come downsmile

So a thief would be knackard anyway, unless he could figure out what I'd donesmilesmile
BUT YOUVE JUST TOLD EVERYONE ON HERE WHAT YOU DO QUINNY........

I'm just over 30 and I do have a garage but mine is just over £300 with Mannings. £1000 would seem very expensive. Does the garage make that much difference.

I was with Hagerty for my S2 but have now gone to Mannings because Hagerty would not insure the Griff (or any other TVR built after 1980 iirc)

I had my previous Griff with Richardson Hosken, had lots of agreed value policys with them in the past. The damage i did to the rear 1/4 of my previous one was sorted without fuss.

Like many others ive been with Hagerty for the last few years, and very happy with them too,but as they have decided to not insure post 1980 ive had to look around and have found prices are a lot more with other brokers,Mannings who i thought would be the logical choice as they use the same underwriter as Hagerty were over £150 more than my previous premium, likewise a few others i tried..... eventually classic line quoted at a sensible price and ive gone with them at a smidge over £300 quid which is slightly more than with Hagerty.
