This'll give you a laugh. For my 2000 Cerbera 4.5 LW, 9 years NCD, no points, off street parking, experienced TVR driver (3 Tivs over 7 years).

Sunninghill
Last year - £866
Renewal Quote - £3041 (an increase of 251%)

Apparently all of the companies Sunninghill use are suddenly not interested in TVRs with London postcodes that are not garaged.

Thanks guys!

Off to find a proper insurance company/broker.

Blimey, I knew things were now not so TVR friendly at Sunninghill since last June when
they changed a quote by 60% in the space of a week, but 251%?!

I legged it over to Peart who have been very helpful.

Geoff, Try admiral, they've always provided the best quote for parking in London for me (beat Tesco and Direct Line).

I tried A Manning but they wouldn't touch it unless it had a tracker. I tried Sunninghill too and received a simialr response to yours.

This is a pretty good site, scans loads of others:

Seems not.

I got the quote, but hadn't bought the car.
A week later when I had bought it, they wouldn't honour the quote and
cited the 3million in Tuscan bills line and change of company policy.

An update - not doing too well so far!

* Tesco - £1191
* A-one - £1150
* Peart - not garaged so will not quote
* Mannings - £1107 (but insist on a tracker)
* Admiral - £1623
* Heritage - not garaged so will not quote
* Classicline - £1050
* Confused.com
- £1481 (Churchill)
- £1721 (Elephant)
- £1842 (People's Choice)
- and so they get worse.

Given that I paid £866 last year, have a further year of no claims (9 in total now), had no accidents, claims, convictions, this is bloody ridiculous.

Anyone able to suggest someone else I should be trying?

I tried all those and ended up with priviledge. Despite everyone saying they were more expensive they were certainly cheapest for me. 39 8 years NCB. £650. I told them up to 30K miles per year which seems ridiculous now. That was last month.

Hope that helps.

No tracker, nil else but is garaged.
