Are snoopers worth buying? If they are, which are good? Are they easy to install? Do they have any drawbacks?

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Yes. S4 Neo. Yes. You drive faster and so burn more fuel.

In that order.

I cant recommend the road angel enough. I did have a radar activated one (as opposed to a gps one)which didnt always warn me in advance and sometimes I was on top of the camera before it warned me.

Get a Road Angel - its totally reliable and warns you well in advance of fixed cameras and blackspots. Used in conjunction with the "radar alert" your pretty much covered.

I have not tried the others but can reccomend the Origin B2 as a superb unit...

Sean

You need the radar head (not yet available) and a laser janmmer (*2) as well to get as much protection as a unit can give

Agreed. Keeps coming out best in tests.

See this week's AutoCarExpress (can't remember which one)

I've got a Snooper S5, which although it picks up more false alarms that the GPS units, does get the mobile units.
It's worked well for me and saved some ink on my licence on more than one occasion.

But now I've been done by the strips accross the road.

ABS is a bugger like that isn't it. On TVRs you can lock it all up and 'remove' the issue.

My B2 is still working perfectly as far as I can tell. Gets some odd laser readings on the M4/M25 interchange near heathrow, but apart from that.
