Front Splitter..... it Split!

I have an M12 GTO 3 and on the way home from a great track day the front splitter snapped! I just hit something in the dark.....

Anyway, it wasn't a standard looking front splitter but a perspex plastic type one, that had possibly been made up by the previous owner. I was thinking about getting another one made up by a plastics company as it looked quite good before the collision with a badger, fox, anvil, dwarf, whatever I hit!

Alternatively, what about an original, do I need to wince as I listen to the price of such an item???

The originals come up on eBay from time to time and a lot of people have made there own.
At the end of the day the standard ones are cosmetic but if you want a purposeful one, you should check out the Reverie site.

I cud make you one in fibreglass for £75 plus carraige. I took the mould off an original one as a friend wanted me to make a carbon one for him

here is the new splitter



(Noble splitter is on the right)

here is the material left over, plenty left for closing off the underside of the front of the clam to get the full effect of the downforce



the material i have used has taken me some time to track down

it is rugged, antishock and impact resistant, antiabrasive and acid resistant

it is quite tough and is difficult to bend or snap

it is however not the easiest material to work with - it has a habit of welding itself backtogether after you have cut it so you need to prise it apart as you cut

i am hoping to get it fitted to the clam very soon

yes the table has seen better days ! its quite snazzy it folds into a bench or a table

the material is a version of polypropylene

Where did you source the plastic?

Hopefully not from the same bloke who sold you the table!?? :-) Sorry Gadge, couldn't resist...... I'm guessing the reverie site isnt cheap, I'll check ebay too. Thanks guys.....

I've found a guy who works at a plastic factory and can supply the right type of plastic cut to shape. Although a template would make it much easier...any ideas??

I have the template for the twin splitter which is probably as effective as the OEM full splitter but (IMO) looks better. If your plastics man can make some sets of these then I am sure you will find some takers - I certainly want some.

I will upload a picture tonight but there was a photo on here of Urbaliser's silver car (if anyone can find it) with them on which looked good - they are the twin splitters that NobleMods used to make. I have full scale drawing so will have to post it.
