Cobra / Navtrak is costing me £295.00 inc vat per annum. I need a tracker for my insurance. If the car is started without my keyfob they call my mobile and ask whats going on etc and can tell me where my car is. Does this cost seem competitive?

Tracker themselves publish all their prices on the website:

I had a Tracker on my last car and despite moving the car without a key being present (car being moved on a transporter, but could just as easily have been lifted by thieves and put on the back of a flatbed) I didn't get a single call from Tracker asking if the car was being moved legitimately.

Didn't inspire me with confidence in their system in the event that the car actually got stolen. Fortunately it never was.

I also stopped paying for my tracker because the insurance only went up by about £50 to have it insured without a tracker present.

Thanks, I think I'll get a quote for insurance without a tracker.

An additional £60 on premium to have tracker removed from policy.

Might come in handy if you leave your car with a dealer/detailer.

Also pay £295 per annum for Navtrak with ADR.

Sligtly OT, but are there any no-sub trackers, which the police can use to find your car if it is stolen?

I wouldn't want my car being tracked all the time, just when it was pinched for example?!

i'm sure only "tracker" is the police connected system.

i have tracker horizon on the db9 £130 a year or £325 for as long as you have the vehicle, quite good if you have a classic or a future classic you intend to keep for sometime

I've got a tracker horizon too and it does seem to work. If I didn't need it for the insurance I wouldn't bother but for me it does work out cheaper.

It is so far. The four aerials on top of traffic cars are the direction finders for tracker.

A lot of tracker systems are now doing GPS based but I don't think there are any that the police monitor. They are all watched by a company who phone the police so the updates aren't exactly real time.

You can also buy signal blockers cheaply off ebay so it begs the question exactly how much is any vehicle tracking service worth when it can be blocked so easily?
