Would the country fall into anarchy if there was a terroist attack while the State Opening Of Parliament was going on?
All those MP's and stuff wiped out?

Oh and the Queen of course xmas (couldn't find a crown gif)

I'm sure I saw a bloke in black with a keg of gun powder. scratchchin

It wouldn't make the slightest bit of difference. We don't need new laws every day, that was just a Bliar tactic to keep everyone in a tizzy. And anyway we're getting plenty from Brussels.

Beyond a vague cheer from the populace it would quickly be business as normal.

The yanks would probably move in and take over, have them as their European base.

They would scrap the NHS, reduce benefits to nothing, with the aim to reduce the defecit.

This would in turn increase crime and their would be mass anarchy, resulting in a military state.

I'll stick with the current lot.

Although the reality would be much less interesting.

Prince Charles would take over as monarch. Civil servants would carry on as if parliament hadn't begun.

New elections would be announce for in 6 weeks. The councillors would stand as MPs, there will be members of the parties set up for this. You would probably get a former leader to be in charge.

There would be a plan in place for such an eventuality.

International confidence in the GB economy would drop like a stone, taking our offical economic state from "fked" to "greece". What authorities remained would likely be sent into a state of permanent panic and the resulting crackdown on civil liberties would likely make post-9/11 America look like a hippy commune.

W e would all cheer, then we would all buy full tanks of petrol for our MX-5s for 12p a litre and go for a hoon (exceeding every speed-limit) over to Katy Perry's house to smash her back doors in and then we would possibly shoot her cat(1) with an air rifle(2)

(1) I don't know if Miss Perry has a cat
(2) I don't condone shooting cats with an air rifle or otherwise

I wonder how many times you'd have to blow it up before people stopped standing as candidates?

Poland recently lost most of it's major players in a plane crash, but they have ways and means of looking after stuff.
