Fog lamp, MOT and shades of red...

Sorry for dragging up another fog lamp thread, I tried to search for DennistheMenace's (I think!) reversing light mod thread, but the search function is knackered... 
Basically, I keep knocking off the stupid bolt-on bumper mount fog light. I've gone through three of them through a combination of clumsiness whilst washing the car/brushing against it/stupid cheap plastic mounts

I've chucked it in the bin, rewired the fog light to the offside reversing lamp, and stuck a red LED bulb in. Trouble is it's a bit... pink? It's definitely on the red side of things but the MOT is tomorrow, and I'm wondering if I would be as well cutting a hole in the light cluster tonight before it gets too dark... and if so, is this gonna be a right pain in the rear to do? I'm s
