JUST picked the car up after having a brand spanking new clutch fitted and whan I got home smoke started coming in to the car through the transmission tunnel, and I coul;d see it coming out of the bonnet too.

It did smell a bit "Clutchy" so is this normal?

Not heard of that before either, as Paddy said, speak to your garage quickly.

Spoke to them straight away but all of the mechanics had knocked off. None of them are in tomorrow either!

I'm sure i've seen this before. I think it was the gearbox gasget that was leaking oil on to the exhaust.

Probably a really stupid question, but what are you parked over???

We had smoke like that everytime we parked up at the campsite at lemans - cats were ingiting the grass underneath!!!

Looking back, im sure it was probably worth panicing about - odd how Le Mans just eases you in to not caring about anything else in the world at that time

It might just be some clutch fluid that they spilt while bleeding it. If it was lying on the manifolds or thereabouts you would see the smoke and smell it.

clutch fluid normally stops smoking after a while, on first starup you often get a bit as the manifolds heat up, but it goes after maybe 10 seconds .. don't forget clutch / brake fluids are one of the biggest causes of underbonnet fires too *yikes* .. so any smoke is worthy of investigation .. my advice is leave the car and don't drive it until the garage has taken a look .. recently saw a battery cable melted onto exhaust .. lots of smoke and dead car ..
