Going to stay with family in Alfreton at the weekend, fancy a zoo or decent petting zoo or similar, any reccomendations?

Try the White Post Farm Park nera Mansfield http://whitepostfarmcentre.co.uk/ .

Its the only place that i can think of at the moment.

Twycross zoo is maybe an hour away.

No animals but if the kids are between 2 and 6 you cant beat Sundown :

Another vote for Sundown, we went in November for one of the Santa days, it was horrible weather but my youngsters loved it.

Is there still a zoo at Riber Castle near Matlock, which is about 20min from Alfreton - i might be showing my age though with this suggestion smile

there is the heights of abraham cable cars. And gullivers world 'kids' theme park if your going into matlock smile

I think the zoo closed, but some (most?) of the animals were re-homed at Matlock Farm Park...

Thumb up for this - I live close to Alfreton, White Post Farm is next to Wheelgate Adventure Park so you can do both in one day.
