Probably going to get shouted at for asking the obvious, but when i was a member of the Scimitar owners club, there was a directory which told you which vehicles all of the various bits used in their construction came from. Does anything like this exist for TVR's ???
Cue stream of abuse.. .. ..

I think alot of the stuff on the cerb is made by or for TVR
i.e its not fitted to any other car![]()
ready to be corrected
I think you are right. However, i know there are some things off land rovers and fords. It'd be nice to have a list. We're still waiting for a workshop manual. Steve (Shpub) working on one at the moment.
Is this what your looking for? Loads of info in the alternative parts section.

We could start a Cerbie one I suppose! I was thinking the other day that the wiper motor looks a lot like a mini one! Could anyone confirm that?
I wonder if Steve (shpub) is compiling a similar list for the cerb manual. If not, it would be a good idea to do so, and put it somewhere on here....or even add it to his book. I'm sure everyone whos has bought parts, and know what cars they are from, would contribute.

This old website may be of interest for Griff & Chimaera owners.

what do you fancy Steve , Griff , Cerb...........?
I will do one for each model, as I can use same format for ones I have done, but need the info to get them up and running. Have concentrated on the S and Chimaera as I have owned them, hopefully the parts form linked to those lists has made it easier for people to share info, always looking for new info so if you have it for S or Chimaera please pass it on to add to the list.
ROWER- hope you are still enjoying the car, saw a mail a while back that you were thinking of a Griff?.
Cheers.....Steve Parker

Hi Steve, yep I certainly am , Griff will definately be my next move , but not for a while yet the daily car is showing signs age and I need to change that first .
All the best,
Guy
The problem with these lists and it gets worse as the cars get newer because so much more is custom made by TVR, is that they are often very inaccurate and based around someone says this fits my car and suddenly you are in all sorts of problems. This is not a criticism of those that try and put them together but more of a relaisation that these cars are handbuilt and more unique than people realise.
There are times when people have fitted other parts which are not quite up to standard or where a manufacturer changes the design that means the part no longer fits the TVR.
TVR have been involved in court cases where owners have fitted parts from other sources, they have failed and then TVR have been sued for liability issues. This is why TVR are not quite as helpful as they used to be for things like brake pads and so on.
I have had some pretty abusive communications from people who bought things based on alternative parts list only to find that they don't fit and that they now have a restocking fee to pay. To be honest that has put me of making any formal recommendations ever again.
I take these lists with a very very big pinch of salt and check and double check everything. I also get prices from TVR because they are not always that expensive especially if you take into account the time involved and the expence of searching around. I do know of people who spent many days getting a part for such and such only to find that TVR had it on the shelf for 2/3rd the price....
If you have a Cerbera, then about 90% of the bits are TVR specific. The list will be incredibly short.
