Just messing around with quotes on confused.com and there seems to be an extra £200 a year on cars I've previously owned. Have I missed someone writing off every F40 and 959 in the country or something?

I used to pay £800 for an STI with 20k business miles and most quotes are 4 figures now with £900 excess! Even a little R32 is £900 ffs!

Has the world gone mad???

Yeah quotes have gone mad. My points have gone off my license and I've just turned 25 yet my insurance has risen quite a bit. I've got full NCB too.

We've recently found that Directline have hiked their prices up, but managed to get iro last years prices from Aviva (and cashback via Quidco)

Why do I get the feeling my insurance hike will be paying out for some jobless crash scammer to go to Portugal on holiday to get put in prison for drunkenly decking a local?

One thing is for sure: They will continue to treat innocent motorists like convicts. Some insurance types think they are fking detectives ... and to think we PAY for this experience! s

Hmm. My insurance renewal is in August, and my last car was written off by an uninsured driver in an insured vehicle in January (liability still being sorted!). I was due to get my NCB this year but that may be gone pending the outcome of the above accident.

I'm not looking forward to quote time as people who have had no accidents or claims are being hammered for more money. God knows what my renewal price is going to be! frown

Atleast you guys aren't 17! My mates just took out a policy for over £300 a month with a £400 deposit (all be it a 9 month contract, but 12 months insurance)

Thats on a 1.4 Focus btw! Which is slow as st!
