Or more importanatly the 8500-ST-05207 with the metal wrist strap

Have found this watch:

http://www.thewatchhut.co.uk/Raymond-Weil-Gents-RW...

for £524 (ish) at a local shop and Im thinking of buying it as my first step into nice watches.

What are peoples opinions?

Is it worth that? Has a new range come out and that is why its about 50% of the price of the watch hut?

has anyone got one?

What deisgn is similar in other makes for around that price?

What are the running costs on a watch liek that?

What is similar then?

What does the alternative start at cost wise?

PRS 14 or similar (non-chrono) perhaps, Sinn 556 (again non-chrono and less sporty) but an O&W (Ollech & Wajs "Mirage III MK2" Chronograph) for £495 may be worth looking at - an ETA 7750 movement as used in far more expensive watches...

Go for the Raymond Weil. I have 2. Brilliantly made, not in your face like some other top name brands. Subtle, reserved, perfect. May even go get a third soon.
