Suunto Opinions Please
Discussion
Firstly, apologies, I know having searched on the watch forum that there have been a number of threads about Suuntos, however, to try and collate all opinions I am asking for feedback/experiences from owners on just one thread.
I'm looking to pick up a Suunto watch, for weekends & holidays, I'm not Mr Outdoorsman by any means, just another gadget fan boy, these do seem to have a lot of interesting features, so the floor is open........
Thanks

suunto yachtsman here too.....tis big but i like it. Only downside is synthetic straps don't last too long but the watches are tough and light. Sits well in the collection besides the swiss autos.
oh yes one more thing, the faces can be prone to failure with the digital readout losing clarity so numbers become difficult to read. mate sent back 2 x-landers with this fault.

I have a Core. The first one died but Suunto swapped it for a new one with no quibbles and it's an easy courier process which they have in place with DHL. The only downside is the orange strap which tarnishes very easily, but I'll just buy a black one sometime soon. Other than that it's a very reliable watch, looks cool, and has some excellent features for mountain sports.
I have a core all black. I bought it to use in the mountains but have found myself wearing it all the time. The alarm wakes me in the morning, it tells the time, the date, the time of sunrise and sunset and the temperature (when its not on the wrist). Its got a stopwatch, countdown alarm, storm alarm, barometer, altimeter and compass. Its tough, waterproof and you can change the battery yourself. I've never had a problem with it but if I did I understand, and as mentioned above, that Suunto has excellent customer service.
