Can't find any other started, apart from the general England one.

Only a few weeks away.

So who's everyone supporting?

Although, I know a lot of you will be supporting England.

Oh, and I was trying to make up tables. But am having no luck.
Was thinking of having a running table while the tournament goes on... smile

Not *that* big a footy fan - unless iMan U are getting a pasting from anyone and will watch the England games for sure but I find it hard to get enthusiastic about it all ... uch is the hype with which we enter every tourny.

Expect us to go out maybe in the last eight or so.

Can we win it? No, not really, I can't see it. That's not saying the players shouldn't go there with that one intention though.

I can't wait for the World Cup to start now, I think we'll get to the semis where we'll meet Brazil and go out to them, Spain will probably win it.

Spain must be favorites but if Argentina can get there act together they too could pose a big threat. just a shame there manager hasn't got a clue! He has left Cambiasso and Javier Zanetti out of his world cup squad? they have both just done the triple with Inter Milan ffs and are full of experiance. Maradonna hasn't got a clue.
England have a good chance too, this world cup alot of the usual great nations seem to be the weakest they have been for years. Teams like Italy (world champions), Germany, Brazil, and even Holland are looking the weakest they have been for over 20 years.

No they don't. They are horribly mediocre. Just like every other world cup. Last 8 if they are lucky.

I just hope that the tournament doesn't turn into a dive 'n' cheat-fest like the last two World Cups.

Italy v Australia and Portugal v England last time were disgusting displays by the respective victors (imho).

I can't wait for the world cup to start, supporting England of course, I know it's most likely going to end in heart break and tears but the passion and the feeling of pride is something that can't be beaten.

I've even got what I'm planning to do for each of the group games planned already.
v. USA - BBQ and drinking, move the TV into the garden, weather permitting
v. Algreia - Mate's birthday with a big screen and pig roast at the pub
v. Slovenia - On holiday in Newquay so potentially another BBQ and then a night out to fingers crossed celebrate a bit.

Already got my England top and other essential accessories, I might even get myself some car flags, I honestly don't care what other people think I'll be supporting my country to the full.

You have too much time!

Wouldn't it be easy just to insert an image of the updated tables from a sports website?

As a proud Welshman I could never quite bring myself to support England, but I will be actively wishing them to lose a little less this World Cup. As for the rest of the teams I just want to watch some decent football, with minimal cheating as said above (although it would be a delicious irony if someone scored a "hand of God" against France). biggrin

I was speaking today to a South African now living here in the UK - he's firmly convinced that World Cup tourists will for certain be targets/victims of serious crime. "They'll murder you for a cigarette" as he phrased it.

I really hope for everyone's sake he's wrong.

I feel uneasy about the way Fifa are handling this as they have priced the tickets too high for the locals to be able to afford to go.
They are forcing food outlets to close on the day of games so that spectators will only be able to buy what is inside the stadium and under the control of Fifa.

Im going to put a £10 bet on Argentina winning it.

Tevez and Messi playing up front, not many people can deal with them when they are on form.

Cup Fever is affecting everyone down here at the bottom of Africa. Fantastic to see the real positive side of patriotism, SA flags and team colours everywhere you look, even if our team has next to no chance. Even the Rugby fans are getting the fever.

Going to be great and South Africa is ready and waiting to welcome you with open arms and our traditional hospitality. Do not let the "run away" saffas make you think otherwise.

Germany as I have them in the sweepstake

Dont want England to win as the glory will be too much to take, and hearing about '2010' for the 40 years will be annoying as fk.
