Annual Service Reminder

Upon starting car today was greeted with 'annual routine service required'. Car has done just over 2k miles since last year when last service done. Done 12k in my last V8 and message never came on- is this a new thing on the 9 or do they all have a service countdown/variable service indicator?

the message will be displayed either 12 months or 10000 miles whichever happens first this is for the v8 and v12 vantage db9 dbs and is for all model years from 2004
