A friend of mine has asked me to look at thier CD player cos the tray had stopped working.Stripped it down and checked allsorts and have narrowed it down to the transport itself. Now I have googled the chinese manufacturer and cant seem to gain much info apart from they make lots of transports for diff companies.
Can anyone recommend a place that would fault find to componant level on surface mount stuff, pref in the yorkshire region but at a push I would send it

Or does anyone know of a place that would sell just the transports inthe uk?

Is it an expensive machine? If not, just junk it as there is no way it will be cheaper to repair it than buy a new one.

Almost all CD players use the transports out of CD-Rom drives.

So if you've got one of those lying about doing nothing have a look.

Ah, French weird kit!

As plotloss says, it's likely to be a CD-ROM drive transport.

There is a website that I think someone linked to on AVForums a while ago which sold loads of transports. Try searching the HiFi and Separates Forumsmile
