Have you tried Screwfix? Couldn't find any M8 bolts for the GTV exhaust but luckily they had them in stock.

Or a merchant who does rigging/ lifting tackle/ marine stuff who would carry these:

8mm Straining Screws - Eye to Eye

Paul, I'll go to Newbury if I have to, but there must be a marine merchant somewhere near the thames at Windsor/ Staines hopefully

Again, no LH thread stuff.

Does anyone have an 8mm tap and die set?

Closest they has was a 1m length of M8 studding, which I could weld to a plate.

The strainer screw sounds like the best option so far though

Presumably they didn't also have a LH M8 nut to complete the puzzle?

I couldn't see your pic or open the link so I have no idea what it is except that it's a LH'ed M8 thread.

Have you tried any of the car part companies like German and Swedish?

Or you could use the studding and lock 2 nuts together if it gets you out of trouble until you source a screw/bolt. Saves welding.
