PH iPhone App?

Im sure its been discussed many times but is there any reason why there isn't an I Phone app? Even if it wasn't free im sure there are tens of thousands of us with Iphones now that would pay a small amount for a decent PH App.

But it's easy to browse on the iPhone anyway. What advantage would it have?

There is a cost involved in developing an iPhone App (and though that could be recouped by adding a fee to the store to download it, it isn't the way we like to do things on PsitonHeads - as we are free content).

If we did do one then it would have to be new functionality or a brand awareness exercise (plus it would have to be across Apple Store, Android Marketplace, and Blackberry's one too). Also the mobile site is currently good enough to not need to be an app (yes I know you can have locally served page furniture of logos etc to speed it up and reduce bandwidth).

So, we are still looking at it, but it isn't something in our immediate future at the moment and the mobile.pistonheads.com is our mobile presence.

The main pistonheads website displays far better than the mobile site in landscape on an iphone anyway.
