morgan's mutterings
Discussion
Yes, I have to say that Morgans over use of the exclaimation mark puts me off his articles. Its like he is showing you where to laugh at his comments. I'm sure he could do a better job and save "!!!!!" ink and let the reader decide whether its funny or nor.
Sorry Mr Morgan, just IMHO - but glad I'm not the only one to have spotted this.

Exclamation marks are my favourite punctuation marks!!!!
Nice to know I've been missed!!!!!!!!!
I'll try and reduce the number of '!'s in future - OK????????
In all honesty, I don't mind the comments - good or bad - it's good to know what people think. Sometimes I feel I am writing in a black hole. The articles continue to be published, but I often don't know whether they are read or ignored. No-one can please all of the people all of the time, but if some people enjoy them, then I'll keep writing them.
For now - cheers!!!

Do you get a double spread next month to make up - Davids Deluge perhaps...
Good idea - but unless I s p r e a d i t o u t a b i t I will have to write more! (oops - there goes another exclamation mark! - oops and another)
Perhaps Derek could include another 46 pictures of the Griff!
Dave
I'm all embarrassed now Mr Morgan. I like your articles, they offer a humorous perspective to the Sprint magazine and a nice balance. I just can't stand over user of exclaimation marks - as they lose their effect if used too much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hushed voice: please don't use this as a subject for one of your articles will you? (??????????????????????????????????????????????????) >> Edited by TUS 373 on Monday 8th March 17:52

How can I when I don't know anything about you? Bryan? Bryan?
By the way - how come you can afford a Tuscan when you are an MBA student earning no pay? And of the 1,135 posts you've done to date (as at 18:00 GMT Monday March 8th), did you know you have made 947 spelling mistakes and used 1,345 excvalmation marks?
I wouldn't dream of writing about you - watch out for the May edition of Sprint though!! (There I go again)

I'm SO embarrassed.
What is an "excvalmation" mark in your context of spelling mistakes?
.
Now, please don't write about me in Sprint!!!!!!! All you need to know that I'm a student, with a Tuscan - so the only feasible explanation is my Mafia, Triad....and worst of all....Salvation Army connections!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You are not watching me are you?
BryanDaveM said:I think I should tell your public, Dave, that I remove 90% of your exclamation marks. The only difference with this month is that I appear to have removed them all.

And Terminator was used merely to show that you would be back.

I can't believe you don't know what an "excvalmation" mark is! It is very similar to a qvelstion mark and a mesi colon!
As if I wood make spolling mistooks!
(Pls note the minimalistic use of the excvalmation mark)

Brilliant!
Dave,
thanks for a compensation for this months missing article.
I was deeply annoyed as I couldn´t find your article this time.
Yours is the first I read in Sprint and is read immediately after receiving.
Usually not only read once because your articles are so amusing.
Not one time I went through the night glancing through the dictionary just to get an idea what your mutterings are all about.
Please keep this in mind.
If you don´t mind for future and for support of extremely slow people like me, a general idea ahead of the article would be very appreciated.
Thank you very much for all the nice hours!!!!!!!!!!
Please keep on muttering!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And for the book "The complete work of Dave ...."
please put me on the list. A must for the library:
a kind of "The TVR Owners Guide"?
Looking forward to the next articles,
Martin
Griffithy -
Thank you for your kind remarks. It really makes me WANT to write more when I know people enjoy the articles.
There are already 3 articles awaiting printing, so plenty more to read in the near future.
Like the idea of "A kind of TVR guide" or "A TVR guide with a difference..." - I have already written 20 articles, of which 17 printed to date - so with a few more we could do a Volume 1!
Is there any interest for a combined works? Could raise a few more pounds for the TVR funds. I could always throw in a few unpublished ones as well!
In the meantime, hope you enjoy the next ones - one especially made me laugh - and I knew what was coming next!
Cheers and keep
Dave
PS Like the picture of your Griff in the mountains - excellent.
