Anyone interested in painting an aeroplane?
Discussion
The title maybe slightly miss leading.
Due to unforeseen circumstances my partner and I are desperately searching for someone capable of painting our aeroplane. Our plans have recently been thrown in to disarray.
Our Biplane will be ready to paint by about the 10th of June. Due to the short notice none of the best established aircraft paint specialists will be able to fit us in quickly. Therefore we are exploring all sorts of other avenues with a sensible budget in mind.
The aircraft is a Christen Eagle. The paint scheme is far more straight forward than the original Eagle design. We may have access to a large car spray booth but we will need an expert to do the work.
If anyone has any ideas or suggestions it would be great to hear them! We don't want to miss any more of the summer.

Where are you located? and do you have any service contacts? Due to unforeseen circumstances my partner and I are desperately searching for someone capable of painting our aeroplane. Our plans have recently been thrown in to disarray.

I think the timescale is however VERY short.
Good luck.

I had an RV-6 painted by Roger Targett at Nympsfield - he is first rate and a great guy to work with.
Sailplane Services.
Rob Millinship is worth a call if you haven't already - Aerographic.
As others have said though, it might be too short notice.

We are in the Midlands - but we can take the aeroplane anywhere. Do you mean service as in Forces?
Cheers

Yes the RAF in particular, they do have some airframe paintshops, perhaps IF and it's a big IF, you could find one and make the appropriate overtures (££ for the paintshop hire and some "envelopes" for the boys doing the work)......
That is a great idea. My partner is an ex Tornado pilot and I'm ex RM so we'll explore that avenue. Great idea. Thanks.Edited by R1_NUR on Friday 28th May 18:00
