I've been experimenting with some "styles" for (potentially), a range of floral greetings cards. Floral themes are very popular, but it's difficult to come up with something a bit different!

This is an example of the sort of thing I'm considering. Should I abandon the idea, or is it something that might "catch your eye" when browsing at the card counter? Your C&C in this bit of market research would be much appreciated.

No, but Mrs Get probably would. For a mass market I'd boost the colour saturation a bit... My experience is that the lowest common denominator usually sells.

Problem is not whether people buy though, it's what retailers will take them?

It's very relaxed up here, I do a lot of sale/return, but when I was down south it was a lot more cut-throat.

I use www.colourcards.co.uk for my postcards. Cheep and cheerful... if you want to test the water, you'll only lose +/- £100 for 1000

Pukka cards will cost you a lot more. (As I'm sure you know)

Good luck

Thanks Steve. I was also thinking of using some descriptive text too, like this.

Added some "colour boost" to this one, as suggested.

The dandelions one is interewting but I don't like the typography - the font/colour doesn't quite work for me and the lettering cuts across the stems.

You're right Simpo, doesn't really add anything. Perhaps I'll leave the "title" for the back of the card or experiment with including some "blank" space just for text. I'll shoot some more tomorrow.
