I have an oil leak at the back of the engine (The car is an 95 2.5 lux). I'm assuming it's the main crank shaft oil seal. I'm planning on changing this when I change the clutch this spring. Is it a case of pulling the old oil seal out and pushing in a new one once I've removed the flywheel or is there more to it than this?

Any pointers that stop me finding out I need special tool 'X' once I have the thing in bits would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Mark

Maybe worth getting the Porsche workshop manuals on CD if you can find some on ebay etc. Useful source of info.

Got one but they generally seem to describe putting a new seal in after an overhaul but not the procedure of removing the old one. I just want to know if it's the usual process of putting a couple of self-tappers into the seal and pulling it out or whether it's more involved than that and the manuals I have don't say.

Thanks anyway,

Mark
