Talk about a waste of money.
Discussion
There is a short 3/4 mile length of dead-end road close to my home. It's popular with dog walkers and near the beginning of it there is a small rifle range that is used infrequently by a local gun club. Other than that the only other vehicles to use it are tractors and farm vehicles. There are no houses along it and it ends at a dirt track. So why on earth Norfolk County Council Highways have just resurfaced God only knows. It did not even have any potholes and was generally in good condition.

Maybe it's coming up to end of year so they need to spend all their money so they get the same amount next year. Just standard "it's not my money so who gives a stuff" of the Civil Service IMHO.
More then likely, if they come under budget...their budget gets reduced!Jasandjules said:

I agree totally, we had a similar thing here where the council were (apparently) throwing money at contractors just to use up the budget. Boils my piss!
I dont know, but lately locally the council have been resurfacing roads that were in good condition. The roads are now in worse condition than before. Really uneven, and bumpy. Some of them even pull you really hard to one side. Now theyre closing the busiest 2 lane DC in the area, to make it single lane so that everyone has to follow the one way system round the town (that has nothing in it). I kind of hate our local council.
Sorry for the thread jack!

Traveller's camp coming soon (to a place near you).
Shhh!! Don't talk it up. The road runs behind a recently closed RAF air base. They have already built a prison for pedos there. A travelers camp would round things off nicely.
