Anyone know this car??

Hi, i dont normally post in these parts but I have a couple of questions which hopefully you guys can help me with. My father in law was set on buying an MGB GT and he has looked at loads. Today we went out for the whole day and saw 3 and were not that fussed by them. At the last place we went to we saw a really nice TVR Taimar which is not actually advertised yet as he only got it in today.

Anyway, he fell in love with it. So we have come away to do a bit of research and have found they are quite a rare car. He has found another one which I have added a link for, and I wanted to know if anyone knows about this actual car. Also in general do you know what to look out for on them, as common problems. He is thinking about travelling up tomorrow to see this one and wants to go with at least half an idea!! Thanks in advance for any info.

do not know the car BUT with any tvr always check the chassiss body should always look good
check outriggers
good look i have never thought i wish i had not bought one

Thats a nice car I think - David Gerald have a good reputation. I would suggest you contact Adrian Venn - Exactly TVR in coventry 02476 596883 07956 956042, adrian@ on Piston Heads. He is a M series guru and an all round very hlpful bloke (he looks after my S very well). I would also suggest that the Classics forum might be a better place to ask your questions.

I don't know the car either but had seen it for sale. As mentioned, chassis condition is everything so make sure DG let you have a good look around underneath at the outriggers.
They are great fun, I owned my Taimar for over 13 years before replacing it with a 3000S. I also think they are undervalued, as they are better looking, faster, handle better and are far rarer than an MGB yet don't command silly money.
You would, however, be better posting this on the "Classics" forum as this is read by the owners of pre 1980s TVRs (officially the Taimar ceased production at the end of 1979 but several slipped through). The S Series is a totally different animal which was built from 1987 to 1994).

Thanks for the advice chaps, I didn't notice the classic section. I have moved the topic over to there so hopefully they will be as helpful. I will let you know if he buys it!!
