I used to take my sphynx Indy out on a harness and lead he loved it used to go to my local shopping center lots of funny questions like is it a dog it feels like a snake and I've one of those but with fur.idiots. Now the desent weather is here I might start taking him back out again. Most people are just fasinated to see a bald pussy there's only about 300 in the Uk

Our cat would walk with us. She never liked a lead and would try to bite it off.

You can buy cat specific harnesses. We have tried it a few times with our cats.

One hates the harness and goes mental.
One doesnt mind it but doesnt really want to walk anywhere; she just rolls in the grass and the sand.
The thrid one doesnt mind it either and likes to walk around but you can't control her, if you try and pull the lead to get her to walk in any direction she will just freeze so all you can do is just follow her around the garden.

I gather it also depends on both the breed of the cat and whether or not the cat was trained to walk on a lead from an early age.

Well, I reckon the chap who's just shaved his Persian should show it this picture so that it doesn't feel so bad... smile

As for taking the cat for a walk - nope. But a couple of our cats will walk with us up the road when we take the mutts out. Then when we come back they will be waiting and will escort us back as well, yelling at us !

^ Get in; I had £10 riding on someone making the (almost inevitable) posting of this pic before the end of page one smile

No leads, but my cats wait to be taken for a walk most evenings.

Don't worry about the lead, go for a walk, call the cat, it'll probably follow.. Our two do..

Sorry - 79% of PHers find it a bit mental.
