Female Chav with a "blade" is it acceptable to fight back?
Discussion
Scenario is; a gentleman folk walking home from pub through a market town is approached by a circa 18/20yo chavette in full hoody ploomage. She points a three inch bladed knife at him, looks serious and asks for his wallet and watch, she has three friends fifty yards away in the gloom.
He decides that he doesnt want to part with his valuables. She becomes more agitated and is about to use the knife.
He is confident that he can hit her hard enough to end the problem before she can use the knife.
Does her sex change the view of people/the law if he does?
My opinion is that she waived the right to be treated as a lady by not acting as one. What are his options? Laugh at her and keep walking, hand over his hard earned, or deck her?
This is a variation on a meeting I had in Ipswich. I chose option one and eventually she gave up, obviously didnt have the minerals. But thinking back a stab wound is a stab wound so was probably the wrong thing to have done. Option three is best from a keyboard point of view.

I think that if someone comes at you with a knife they lose all 'rights' to be treated with any civility what so ever. Personally the idea of a brick appeals, as does any approach that leaves them requiring more than a short visit to A&E, a sob story to the social worker and a couple of tamazipams to help them on their way.
If you pull a knife, then it's fair to say you are prepared to use it to kill. Expect the same level of ferocity in response and in self defence. Yes mr plod, it has to be reasonable and within the law, but judgement of what is legal and appropriate can be determined after the event.
edited to add: this is a particular subject that annoys the feck out of me - the somewhat bizarrer way the law appears to be on the side or those who commit the crimes. Take for example the case of someone who attacks you whilst in a car - say a carjacking. If you then used you car as a means of self defence - namely you ran them over and (unfortunately) killed them, would you be to 'blame' fot their deaths?
Now i'm clearly not advocating the use of weapons etc, but it does strike me that the law seems loaded against those who attempt to defend themselves.

With her trying to rob you, in my eyes this removes all her rights to not being teated as a man, The fact she has a knife just reduces them down to the level that if you have the chance give her a bloody good hiding.
The 3 mates would probably put me off more than the knife of actually trying to fight her as 4 on 1 are stupid odds, 4 on 1 and they might all be carrying well thats just asking for trouble. probably be tempted to give one swift hit and then be away on my toes before anything really bad could happen.

One of my old drinking buddies was glassed in the 'spoons in Camberley by a bird. 39 stitches, nearly lost an eye and when he went down she tried to stamp on him. His best mate was there and is a big old bruiser so as she tried to stamp on him said mate lamped her, hard. He has always been against hitting women but as he said to the BiB,
"if you are hard enough to attack someone like that, you are definitely hard enough to take the beating if they fight back.".
I fell that in the situation the OP describes these are wise words.
Oh and she got done for Assault and GBH, but BiB didn't even charge him.
