A friend is dead-set on a 'cool old convertible' and has found the above.

Any opinions, on the above and some alternatives?

cheers

Andy

Hello,
I would say that is a bit expensive, at that price it should be lower miles and low owners. I would think that £3k is a reasonable price for that, and it should not go below that if she looks after it. I bought mine last year, privately, similar age and milage in black but not quite as tidy and i paid £1600 mid winter for it. Things have moved on and the good weather is here, so the price is stronger, plus its at a dealer so there is a bit of security.

If it is a good one they are brilliant. A bit wobbly but that just adds to it!

Tim

Way too much money. The seller is dreaming.

Although the price of good E30 cabs is on the rise, the seller is asking too much for it. My dad picked up a 40,000 mile 325i cab for £4k...

I've seen nice ones go for a couple of grand less than this one.

I'd go for this.

Or maybe a TVR 350i or an S? They are getting incredibly cheap...

clearly there are a lot of E30 convertibles and baur conversions for far less than that. Id also avoid a white one to.

Oh an dont mock the girl for prefering a 325i over a mx5!

Initial thoughts - steeply priced, but looks tidy. Would take a coupe myself.

That is a lot... but a nice car.

If you want one cheaper, my girlfreinds cousin has a low mileage 320i Baur E30. Very clean. He's selling it if you're interested PM me.

My neighbour sold his red one - which was much the same as that - this time last year for about £2,500.

That is something of an optimistic price...

For a good one it is not steeply priced, you'll spend much more trying to fix a bad one up, and even dog 318i Cabbys go for £2,000 upwards easily. I cannot help but think some of the "it's expensive" people are deluded into thinking that you can get a tidy one for £1,500 because it is an old BMW. You Can't.

There are a lot of e30 cabs but that one does seems very nice, low miles (despite being over 100k) and its a 325. In reality its about a grand over priced but they are on the up and an original is only going to keep climbing.
