Booked on the Aintree trackday tomorrow although the weather's not looking too good at the moment. As it's my first time there I wondered how 'safe' it was to leave tools etc in the paddock area when driving. Not making any assumptions about the area btw wink

I am not doing the trackday but I will probably pop along as I know a couple of people doing the day. The paddock is fairly open, spectators have to pay to get in but then can wander around the site including paddock. I'm sure you'll be able to find somewhere safe to put your things. There was a friendly atmosphere between the participants last year. What session are you running in?

i'll be there with my red golf GTI, and most of the "boys toys" are signed up too.
Weather conditions looks like light drizzle most of the day.

You should have put what group you wanted to be in with your cheque/payment form etc....shouldnt be a big deal tho,you have probably been placed in a group...you can ask to move groups during the day i believe.

Im in intermediate,as ive never been before + near 400 bhp in the wet might be scarylaugh

Weather looks utter rubbish :-(

They should cancel it and move it to sunday, good weather...:-)

Thanks Andy - got them!

The ones from today look great with the grandstand in the background. Not sure how the Atom sneaked into that pic from Anglesey though wink

Good to meet you both again and hopefully I'll get a ride in the car soon biggrin

Was a decent day (i was in a silver evo 6)...but picked the worst weather of the year for a trackdaymad

Circuit was alot smaller than i thought,1 minute a lap...got dizzy....lol

Good blast for the money, but that recovery service was terrible!!! for such a small circuit (after the fella saying it was the best in the business)...errrr no.

Yes, but seeing at the young lad in the Pug 205 got carried away and didn't quite listen to the warning about staying on the tarmac! He went off the track, across the grass, went through the perimeter fence, missing the concrete posts and then hit a tree! Quite enjoyed it once up to speed although 15 min sessions would have been better.
Only complaint was that white Renault, the driver seemed to be on another planet!

They seem to be unconcerned about the crash from that photo.

I hope he didn't touch the 'hallowed turf', otherwise it goes as a black mark against the organising club.

we look unconcerned because everyone walked away from the crash, the car can be rebuilt! and dont worry the grass is still green

I had a good day on Saturday (I was in the Gold 306 GTI6)

It was my 1st wet trackday so I was a bit worried in the morning, but the car was handling great so the rain wasnt bothering me a few sessions in!

I think the day was run pretty well but there were a few people that were not moving over and letting people fast. The Marshalls should have been using blue flags to stop this from happening.

Apart from that had a great day and think i will book for the October date.
