Odd question, I know.

Vauxhall Astra Exclusiv, 1.4, 5 Door, 10 plate. MRRP of £15,895.

Cheapest new I could find with 0 owners was this - £13,994.

Cheapest I could find with what I think is 1 owner on the book is this - £11,990.

What would the value of that car be, with <100 miles on the clock, but with one (real) owner on the clock?

Reason why I ask is that some dealer near here is doing a healthy discount involving trading in a scrappage car - my Dad suggested by the car, trade in my old car I want to sell and then sell the new car. Sounds stupid, but the dealer are offering the car for £10,604 (OTR I think), and I was thinking i'd get maybe £300-£500 for my car privately.

I hate to say it but you'll never make money trading cars like that - especially not super depreciating Astras. The dealer can obviously sell them at that price including making a profit. Any buyers you'd be looking for would be able to get themselves the same deal.

In the scrappage year the only people I saw making money were people who scrapped an old knacker and bought a Fiat 500 1.2 Pop for cash then sold the 500 at a 1k discount over new making the seller 1k richer and the buyer happy. Certainly a better interest rate than leaving 8k in the bank for a year.
