In September I'm going to Berlin with a few mates as we're all hitting the big five oh this year. As we're not kids anymore we'll be looking to visit places of interest, but we're also not dead yet either so we'll be looking for a bit of fun as well - any suggestions either way?

I went to Berlin in February with the other half, and we loved it.

I would definately reccomend going up the TV tower (about 10euros each) as there is a great view and a bar and restaurant up there too..

There is also a sea life centre with the worlds largest aquarium, where you can go up the middle of it inside a glass lift. Very impressive!!

I can also recommend booking one of those tourist bus rides, Berlin is a big city, and its a good way of seeing the sights.

Oh yeh, dont bother with Checkpoint Charlie Museum, its crap.

Take the free walking tour. The guides work solely for tips and so do their very best to be interesting and informative. Brilliant tour and you'll get so much more out of it than the bus tours. It's about three hours long, but is at a nice relaxed pace.

For a group of you the Trabant Safari is excelent. http://cms.trabi-safari.de/opencms/opencms/trabi-s...

You drive a Trabant following a guide who talks about all the sights via a radio in the car. Highly recomended

They hide the holocaust museum well, no obvious signs, underground and behind the hotel where Michael Kackson dangled his baby by the B'gate.

The museums in old east Berlin are pretty good.

Agre on the checkpioint Charlie thing, don't both even going there.
