Has anyone ever had this problem with their 993?, should we be worried?

Maybe Mr Neinmeister can give us one of his ever insightful tech answers that he's so good at.

AFAIK, this 993 problem is exclusive to the Shermans!

Vic,

Any idea why it's just the Sherman's cars?, are ours different here?, or is it the shite fuel they have there?

Don't the Shermans have some daft emission control recirculation thingy, and it's that which gets all carboned up?

Thats what I was lead to believe, although (correct me if I am wrong), I believe these 'air passages' are also present on UK 993 TT's.

Due to emission laws the US cars have air pump systems to assist with emissions on cold starting - these are prone to produce the dreaded OBD 'Check Engine' light if the car is stuck in traffic frequently / not driven hard.

Not a European problem ..... although most of us like to do the 'Italian Tuneup' with the most feeble of excuses anyway !

Cheers, Maurice
