Grinding noise in third and fourth gears
Discussion
Now the alternator's sorted in my '90 Eunos Roadster, I seem to be discovering other problems.
The big one seems to be a grinding noise in third and fourth. At first I only noticed this when I lifted off the gas and decelerated, but now it seems that the noise is present when driving too.
It disappears if I dip the clutch slightly. Doesn't seem to be present in other gears but it could just be less obvious.
Any ideas?

it seems to be a 'feature' of these cars.
sometimes it will be worse than others, sometimes you won't hear it. people have gone mad trying to sort this noise. some swear it's heatshields, others think it's diff alignment, clutch release bearings etc.
what i can say is that i've had this noise since i got the car (5 years ago). it's perhaps got marginally worse in that time but hasn't caused any issues apart from the annoyance / embarassment.
