Have you a cooling chip?
Then that is a replacement for the engine ecu chip.
If so then you need to ensure that the chip is right for your engine ie is for a 4.2 or 4.5 or S6, red rose, short induction....
The ECU chip is in the passenger footwell behind the carpet trim, big silver box, unscrew and remove lid, remove chip and carefully put new one in (being careful not to damage pins).
Then that is a replacement for the engine ecu chip.

Cheers Gazzab, I was not aware that the chip was the one in the ECU box. Thought is was a separate unit somewhere. Explains why I could not find it. Now I'm stuffed as I've had this chip for a while but never got round to fitting it. I don't know what style of cerb it came off and on top of that mine has short induction and tuned for it.
