Hot date planned for this evening wink

Spent the afternoon cleaning, polishing and hoovering the car - GLEAMING!!

Decide to fuel it up and off I go, tank topped off its time to head home for 3 S's smile
I pull up at T Junction, indicate right and am sitting waiting for a gap......................

Spot an old volvo approaching from my right - its indicating to turn left!!
I glance left to check its clear - it is!! Look right and CRUNCH!! The bloody Volvo ploughs straight into the side of me and continues along the length of the car and stops

With murder in mind I cant get the sodding drivers door open, clamber over the passenger side and approach the driver who is 90 if he is a day. I cant give the old boy a mouthfull he looks a bit rattled so I check he is ok, he is!
He then proceeds to tell me that its 'MY FAULT' he hit me as it was clear for me to go as he was indicating - WTF! (at this point I semi lost the plot) smile

He's clearly a bit confused - I try to get his details from him rolleyes and was considering calling the cop A car stops - its someone who knows him clap they call his son who arrives within 5 mins - I have to say the son was really nice and apologetic, and uttered FFS when I explained what had happened and what his dad had said.

Details exchanged, and Im off, car is a mess, drivers door is fooked, rear panel mangled and bumper hanging off cry

Aaaargh - 30 mins till date time!! Do I attempt to quickly clean the work motor out and make it presentable(ish) or take a cab?

Fook
Fook
Fook

actually make that 45 mins - I've just made a quick call to let the lady know I'm running late due to a bit of a bump in the car cry

You should always wait until an obvious slowing down, or even for the wheels to start to turn, before pulling out in front of something - the indicator means nothing but the bulb works.

Still, st situation - get a cab, explain the situation.

just to be sure, you hadn't pulled out? you were still waiting to make sure it was clear when he hit you? cos if you pulled out assuming he would turn left and hit you then its a whole different story....

good luck on the date!

Although the dodderer was indicating, if you pull out on him isn't it your fault? Never trust and indicator, or that I what I was taught.

edited to say I thought there was more to your story! 100% his fault!

That's typical PH. Big date Iess than an hour. Thinking about tidying other car which might leave you late...

But still got time to post about it on here!

/edit oh and bad luck. Sounds like another case of people driving who don't know the basics

The silly old duffer didn't make the corner/turn and ploughed into the side of me whilst I was stationary.

They do that. I know an elderly man who is a very bad driver - terrified of speeding, never goes over 29mph etc. Anyway, one day he drove (slowly) into a parked car and then blamed the occupant for not hooting to warn him they were there!

Sadly these are the people who campaign for more and speed limits - because THEY are incompetent.

Clearly your fault. You were wearing a camouflage shirt, or your car didn't have flashing beacons. Just pay up and learn from your errorssmile

Reminds me when I was perked up in london, in a space on a street, engine off, having my lunch waiting for my next job to come in.

I heard a muffled thud from the rear of my car. Some guy talkimg on his mobile while walking down the street had walked into my car and bashed his leg on it.

While that was not bad enough, he then had a huge go at me about watching where I was going....

Give it a few years, thats the next idiot moron elderly driver that takes no responsibility for his actions.
