I'm a bit confused.

The new Renault Clio advert ( clicky ) shows the bearded boyfriend at the lights with potential father-in-law. What is the old boy's car?

yes If not, maybe a Chrysler Sebring or something equally generic. No way is it a 5 series, Lexus or MB.

Her arse has been driving me mad, Amen.

I’m not so sure on the Infiniti, but will yield to the consensus.

The thing that puzzles me is...why isn’t pop's car a Renault? Why use another manufacturer’s product?

You won't identify it - it won't exist.
Renault (as with any other manufacturer) won't put a competitors car into their adverts so it will be something that has been heavily disguised. It's probably based on an e-class or something but it won't be anything that's identifiable or for sale.

I'm convinced it has a mercedes badge on the steering wheel . Noticed it last night, but the youtube one doesn;t have that bit in. Must be a shortened version.

I was convinced it was an altered Merc...but after some research(and careful pausing of the ad), it's an Infinity.

Two seconds into the ad, you see a profile of the back door, including the door handle, trim etc...and it looks like an Infinity. I could go on...
