Ultima GTR size

What's the size of the GTR? I have heard that it is very small. I drive a '90 Nissan Maxima. In comparison to my Maxima, what's the size different in terms of width and length? Thanks.

From what I remember it's around 4 metres long and 185cm wide.

As Mr J says 4m X 185cm.
Which makes it wider than a Range Rover and only 47cm shorter.
Not small by that standard.

So that's a 2 seat sports car only 30" shorter but 4" wider than your 4 door Nissan sedan.

And, it is only 1070mm tall! So, it's wide and flat; just what the doctor ordered! I need one! Just got to figure out how...

Does it matter if a car is short in length. I read that Ultima Sports Ltd decided to lengthen the GTR so it has better air flow which creates more downforce for the rear? So does it mean, longer the better? Most of the supercars length is pretty long. The length ranges from anywhere between 165 to over 185 inches long. If the length makes a difference, why not make it 12 inches or 18 inches longer instead of 6 inches over the previous sport/spyder?

Yep the car has a great profile. The low & wide dimensions give it a planted look, and a great ass

Educated guess, but I think it's more to do with width/length ratio. Other supercars might be longer, but they are also wider. The ratio is generally quite similiar. The reason for this is that there is probally a sweet spot between width & wheelbase (longer wheelbase is more stable at higher speeds, shorter wheelbase corners/turns in better). I'd say the Ultima has more efficient dimensions than your ferrari, porsche or lambo though.

The Ultima is longer and wider than an elise btw.

The GTR/CanAm share basically the same chassis as the Sport/Spyder. The extra length was gained by extending the bodywork. There's obviously a limit to how far it is sensible to extend the bodywork without changing the chassis.

Of course the longer you make it the less inclined it is to want to go round bends...whic is what the Ultima is pretty good at!

If you increased the wheelbase of the Ultima you'd also want to increase it's width.
